Suzie's Soba, located at 1009 W 36th St in Baltimore, MD, offers a cozy and vibrant atmosphere perfect for those seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience. As you step into the restaurant, you are greeted by the inviting scent of freshly prepared soba, a dish that has become the heart and soul of Suzie's menu. Whether you're a local or visiting from out of town, this charming spot is a must-try for anyone who appreciates handmade noodles and deliciously crafted broths.

The restaurant’s menu is a true testament to the tradition of Japanese cuisine, with Suzie's Soba proudly serving up soba that is made in-house daily. What sets this establishment apart is the meticulous care that goes into the preparation of each dish. The soba is crafted using the finest buckwheat flour, ensuring a unique texture and flavor. The noodles are served in a variety of ways, allowing guests to enjoy them either hot or cold, depending on the season and their preference.

One of the standout dishes at Suzie's Soba is the cold soba, served with a dipping sauce that’s perfectly balanced - not too salty, just the right amount of umami. For those craving something heartier, the hot soba soups are rich and comforting, with broths that offer a deep, savory taste. Whether you choose the classic zaru soba or venture into more adventurous options like soba with tempura or a spicy miso broth, you’re sure to be impressed by the freshness and quality of each dish.

For those unfamiliar with soba, it’s worth noting that these buckwheat noodles aren’t just tasty-they’re also quite healthy. Soba is naturally rich in fiber, which aids in digestion, and it contains essential amino acids, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a nutritious meal. The menu at Suzie's Soba also includes a selection of other Japanese favorites, like teriyaki chicken, gyoza, and edamame, which perfectly complement the main dish.

Suzie's Soba isn’t just about the food-it’s also about the experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, with a modern, yet traditional, décor that reflects the care taken in the preparation of the dishes. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, offering insights into the menu and recommendations for pairing drinks with your meal. Whether you’re dining solo or with a group, the atmosphere is conducive to enjoying a relaxed meal.

  • I just found my new favorite! I poked my head in and -even though she wasn't technically open yet- i was treated to an amazing chicken noodle dish which was created while I waited in the cute, funky dining area. It felt like my mom was cooking for me. Also the best part? It was DELICIOUS. The whole experience made my day. You should try it!!

  • My daughter called ahead to make sure Suzie had a table and that we’re welcome. 10 minutes later in a cute and eccentric and eclectic restaurant we were welcomed by Suzie. She is quite the character but so warm, caring and opinionated. There is an extensive card but she prefers to suggest what you should eat so wie did. It was the best and freshest Korean food I have ever had. We all had the same dish

  • Suzie's Soba is a hidden . As you walk the strip, you may notice the beautifully colored exterior but once you enter, you are taken into a completely different world. From the atmosphere, to food, and service. You are brought into a friendly, loving experience. Don't expect to always get a table, so you must call ahead of you have a party coming in. Let the chef decide if you are brave like I was, and you won't be disappointed. 감사합니다 Suzie. 맛있게 먹었어요.

  • The food is good and the portion size is very filling for each dish. Get something spicy. Suzie is as many other reviews will describe a character! If you are a thin skinned the customer is right no matter what type I would stay away.
